Hi, my name is Sylvia Lewis, REALTOR®/Realtist® in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I have 10 years’ experience as a REALTOR in Texas and Hampton Roads Virginia. Prior to my career in Real Estate, I worked as a Social Worker and have a master’s degree in Sociology from the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
I have worked for several non-profits such as the S.T.O.P Organization, where I managed their food banks for the of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. I sat on several of their committees on homelessness and authored and had approved one of their grants for homeless invention.
I also developed and serviced a tracking system for the agency to administer Federal funds.
I worked for the United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) in Norfolk, Virginia where I recruited Foster Families to the foster care agency. I also maintain their database using Salesforce and submit monthly reports regarding the status of member families
I have worked as an employment specialist with the City of Norfolk to assist welfare recipients for employment counseling and job location.
Currently, I am a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) that focuses on helping African American families purchase homes in the DFW area. I am currently the sitting Board Chairperson for Fort Worth Association of Realtist. I am also the new President of the Tarrant County Realtist Women’s Council. Our goal is to assist African American Women in purchasing homes in the DFW area.
