About Me

Bio

I am a Dallas-based attorney currently engaged in learning opportunities and community experiences in the fields of criminal justice reform and civil/human rights. As I transition out of solo practice into community engagement and policy/research-heavy position, I’m hoping to leverage the skills I have and am gaining at present into a thriving reputation that demonstrates an abiding commitment to challenging the status quo in our criminal legal system. I have an ongoing interest in practicing civil rights law, especially concerning issues surrounding criminal justice reform, marginalized communities, access and equity in education, and efforts to de-legitimize discrimination. I also have research interests in public education, Black body politics & religion, race and juries, policing, incarceration, sentencing, the death penalty, and their effects on communities, women and the law, and human rights.

Practice area focus: criminal justice reform, civil rights, criminal law, general legal services, research and writing. In my spare time, I volunteer with alumni, community, and mentoring groups, read, laugh, and love to entertain.
