As Director of Community Relations at Children’s Health, Denise Gomez champions strategic community engagement initiatives that connect families across North Texas to community resources and child health insurance programs. Over her 11-year career at Children’s Health, she has advanced through multiple leadership roles grounded in her commitment to equity, access, and community well-being. Her compassionate leadership has empowered countless families to navigate the healthcare system with confidence, advancing the organization’s mission to make life better for children.
A proud native of Dallas and Oak Cliff, Gomez brings both heart and purpose to her work. Before joining Children’s Health, she honed her expertise in nonprofit advocacy and coalition-building to drive system-level change. She earned a triple Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy, Spanish, and Markets and Culture, minoring in International Studies and Economics, from Southern Methodist University. This multidisciplinary background uniquely positions her to bridge policy, culture, and community engagement, an approach that continues to guide her leadership philosophy today.
Denise is a dedicated civic leader and advocate for community empowerment. She currently serves as the Governance Chair for the Community Council of Greater Dallas and contributes her expertise to advisory boards and coalitions across the Dallas-Fort Worth region that champion health, wellness, and education. She has previously served on the Dallas ISD Racial Equity Advisory Council as an at-large member and the 2020 Citizens Finance Bond Subcommittee, lending her thought leadership to transformative initiatives that will shape the future of tomorrow.
An alumna of Leadership ISD, the Mayor’s Star Council, Emerging Leaders of North Texas, Lead YP, and Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy, Ms. Gomez continues to expand her influence through programs like Leadership Southwest and Leadership North Texas. She also remains active in the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Young Professionals Advisory Council. Guided by a steadfast belief in partnership, she leads with heart to continue bridging access and opportunity for others.
