| Bio | Darrell Wood is a nonprofit founder, cancer survivor, and advocate dedicated to harnessing the power of the performing arts to inspire hope and resilience. As the Founder and Executive Director of Cues for Cancer, Darrell leads a national nonprofit committed to supporting individuals in the theater community whose lives have been affected by cancer. Through workshops, productions, and outreach initiatives, Darrell champions the belief that the stage can be both a platform for healing and a catalyst for change. Professionally, Darrell serves as a federal Contract Specialist with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where they bring expertise in program management, strategic planning, and resource stewardship. They also hold leadership roles within federal employee resource groups, including serving as Deputy of Programs for the Association for Federal Information Resource Management (AFFIRM) and as Vice Regional Chair for the LGBTQIA+ CMS PRIDE ERG. A classically trained singer and performer with an extensive background in musical theatre, Darrell blends creativity with disciplined leadership. Their personal journey as a testicular cancer survivor fuels their mission-driven work and deep empathy for those navigating life’s most difficult battles. Darrell holds advanced training in Computer Science with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence, is a Federal Acquisition Contracting Certified-Professional, and a member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Beyond their professional achievements, Darrell is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) and proudly serves as a voice for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. |
