Callia (Cal-yuh) Cox has over five years of public health experience and has been a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) -Office of Intergovernmental & External Affairs since October 2023. In her Dallas regional role, she supports departmental priorities, develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, and manage media relations across the region. She is a passionate health policy advocate with a background in public health, human nutrition, and food systems. She is skilled at building relationships and working with various stakeholders to achieve common goals. Callia earned her Master of Public Health in Nutrition and a certificate in human-centered design thinking (Certificate in Innovation for Public Good) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also completed her undergraduate studies in dietetics from Louisiana State University. In her career, she has worked with local communities, including -Mayor’s Office of Baton Rouge, LA and a Food Policy Council in Cumberland County, NC and Fort Liberty, NC. Prior to her time at U.S. HHS, she worked with two national nutrition organizations, the Center for Science in the Public Interest and the Food Research & Action Center.
Callia joined the Junior League of Dallas in July 2025.
